The festive concert returns to bring carnival fun for everyone
Venice discovers China as the great adventurer Marco Polo returns to Italy, with a range of Chinese musical instruments gifted by the Emperor. Audiences meet new Venetian friends as they get ready for the carnival and enjoy Chinese and Western instrument demonstrations by brilliant musicians, who bow, pluck and strum in merry musicmaking.
This interactive concert, a huge hit with family audiences in previous years, showcases instruments and traditions from both East and West with its beguiling music and mesmerizing juggling. The plot is sure to delight children and adults alike. This year, this program about cultural exchange is all the more fitting, as 2025 marks the 730th anniversary of Marco Polo’s return to Italy from his travels to China.
